Daniel Robinson
Director
Position Director of Black Box Research and Consultancy
Daniel has a strong business development background with extensive experience in procurement, customer relations and project management. At Black Box, he is responsible for developing strategic objectives and leading the implementation and evaluation of internal and external digital communication.
During his time at Black Box, Daniel has contributed to national impact evaluations, assessing programs that foster collaboration among criminal justice professionals to address gang-related criminal activity. He completed a Masters-level short course on tackling human trafficking and modern slavery at St Mary’s University and has designed and conducted international research projects focused on the trafficking and slavery of Albanian and Vietnamese nationals.
In 2023, Daniel co-founded Youth In Justice, a non-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of modern slavery. In 2024, he joined the Salvation Army as a trained First Responder, meeting potential victims of modern slavery and facilitating their entry into the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
When law enforcement agencies and criminal justice processes concentrate on prosecuting victims, rather than intervening to protect them and pursue the perpetrators, they become a part of an environment that remains conducive to exploitation. The system simultaneously fails to protect victims and make no impact whatsoever on perpetrators’ criminal operations.
